Carlos Martinez Garcia

Carlos Martinez Garcia passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at a hospital in Kingsville, Texas at the age of 78. He was born on September 22, 1935 to Hilario Garcia, Jr. and Manuela Martinez Garcia in Falfurrias, Texas. Carlos worked for many years with the Road and Bridge Department of Brooks County. He loved to spend his time raising chickens and dogs. He is preceded in death by parents and his nephew, Judith Anthony Morales. He is survived by his loving wife of over 48 years, Lilia Mejia Garcia of Falfurrias; son, Carlos (Elsa) Garcia, Jr. of Austin, Texas; daughter, Era J. (Ruben, Sr.) Gonzalez of Alice, Texas; brother, Hilario (Anna) Garcia, III of Falfurrias; sister, Maria Nori Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren, Era JoAnna Gonzalez, Ruby Renee Gonzalez and Ruben Gonzalez, Jr.; two step-grandchildren, Rafael and Nancy Gonzalez; two foster grandsons, Joe Lucky Torres, Jr. and Joel Alexander Torres; 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Juan Castillo, Sammy Maldonado, Ruben Gonzalez, Jr., Omar Guerra, Ramiro Longoria and Romeo Perez.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Falfurrias

Burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Falfurrias.
