Mandy, as she was known with love and affection, was born on April 21, 1946 to Reymundo and Leonor Carpentier. She worked as a cashier at several local businesses where she was known for her leadership and exceptional customer service. Her experience, initiative, and strong work ethic enabled her as part of several management teams. She also owned and operated her own business, Mandy's Flowers and Gifts for over 25 years. She was very creative and took pride in being a floral designer. She loved her customers. Mandy enjoyed dancing, baking pan de polvo and lady fingers, sewing, and evening walks and volunteering in local non profit organizations. Throughout the years, Mandy volunteered in local organizations including Hebbronville Little League, American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Vaquero Festival Association, JHC Fair Association, JHC Democratic Party, and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church Building Committee. Mandy was a lifelong devout of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Mandy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ramiro G. Hernandez, her sons, Ramiro F. Hernandez of Zapata, Texas and Marcos Hernandez of Corpus Christi, Texas, her daughter, Roxana Reyna of Corpus Christi, and her two oldest granddaughters Eliana J. (Michael) Morales and Vanessa (Steve) Stacy, which she cared for and loved as her own daughters. Mandy is also survived by her grandchildren; Frank Reyna, Evana Reyna, RJ Hernandez, Roman Hernandez, Christine Dolton, Isabella A. Hernandez and her great grand children; Ava Morales, Adam Morales, Malaynah Hernandez, Kamryn Stacy, Nadine Stacy, Mary Jane Hernandez, and Brayden Hernandez.
Mandy is also survived by her brothers, Epitacio (Grace) Carpentier, David (Dolores) Carpentier, and her sisters, Josefa (Ildefonso) Guardian, Delia (Alonzo) Guerra, Estella Cabrera, and her sister in law, Dora Carpentier.
Mandy is also survived by many nieces and nephews including two that were very special to her, Susie Carpentier and Juan Carlos Guerra; as well close companions Elsa Gomez, Beatriz Garza and special friends Robert Trejo and Rene Villarreal.
Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Hebbronville with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Our lady of Guadalupe Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetary.
