Antonia S. Valdez entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at hospital in Alice, Texas at the age of 83. She was born on October 8, 1931 to Teodoro Schmeber and Anita Castro Schmeber in Eagle Pass, Texas. She was a cook for Little Flower School, a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. Antonia was welcomed into the gates of Heaven by her parents; first husband, Julio Galvan, Sr.; second husband, Santiago Valdez; brother, Pedro Schmeber and daughters-in-law, Priscilla Galvan and Angelina Galvan. She leaves behind to cherish her wonderful memories her sons, Basilio Galvan and Julio Galvan, Jr. of Hebbronville, Texas; daughters, Anna Maria (Richard) Martinez of Mathis, Texas, Melecia (Abelino) Arredondo of Hebbronville, Griselda (Andres) Mendieta of Hebbronville, Irma (Thomas) Vidaurre of Fort Worth, Texas and Maria Elena (Oscar) Dominguez of Hebbronville; brothers, Roy (Dora Lisa) Schmeber of Eagle Pass and Guadalupe (Shelley) Garcia of La Pryor, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Oscar Dominguez, Jr., Danelle Dominguez, Cynthia Carbajal, Rick Carbajal, Vanessa Vidaurre, Adrian Arredondo, Andres Mendieta, Jr. and Rene Mario Galvan.
Holy rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Funeraria Del Angel Howard-Williams in Hebbronville. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Hebbronville. Burial will follow at the New Hebbronville Cemetery.
