Annie Margaret Negri entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 2, 2019 in Falfurrias, Texas at the age of 96. She was born February 24, 1922 to Giovanni “John” Guyetano Negri, Sr. and Maria Verri Negri in Williamsburg, Colorado.
Annie and a good friend left Falfurrias after graduation and traveled to San Antonio, Texas in search of employment. She was quickly hired at Fort Sam Houston Military Base in the payroll department and ended her career after 35 years of dedicated service as a Personnel Manager. While Annie was on furlough and during the height of the war, she traveled to California and was later asked to return to her job at Fort Sam Houston. After her retirement from the government, she worked another 20 years at the San Antonio Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. Annie loved to bowl and was an avid league bowler most of her years in San Antonio. She moved to Corpus Christi in 2007 and then back to Falfurrias in 2017.
Annie is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Angelo, John and Frank Negri; and her sisters, Ange Negri, Rosie Mayfield and Mary Jean Negri.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Clara L. Negri of Falfurrias and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lance Solomon, Travis Solomon, Dusty Solomon, Cezar Segovia, Ethan Solomon, Kaylor Guerra and Wyatt Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are David Negri, Troy Smith and Richard Solomon.
Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the Funeraria Del Angel Howard Williams in Falfurrias with Visitation beginning at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Church in Falfurrias. Burial will be at Falfurrias Burial Park.
