Bill was born in Uniontown, PA on July 21, 1932 and graduated from Uniontown High School (Go Red Raiders) where he starred as a baseball, basketball, and football player in addition to staring as lead in Pirates of Penzance. Bill also later became a bachelor’s graduate of California University of PA and a Masters graduate of John Carroll University. Beloved husband of 55 years to Gale (deceased); loving father of Bill and Bob (Kathy) ; cherished grandfather “Pap Pap” of Billy Petersen, Reagan & Andrew Bushok ; dear brother-in-law of Gary & Linda Klingensmith; uncle of Kim Hart, Donnie Klingensmith, and Susie Curry. Friend, neighbor, teacher, coach, colleague to many. Preceded in death by parents William & Mary Bushok (Roberts) and sisters Helen Robba and Eleanor “Babe” Bushok.
Bill was a drummer and inventor of aluminum drum sticks who played drums in traveling Rock & Roll shows with stars such as Chuck Berry, Count Basie, Shirley Jones, Bill Haley, and others. In addition to being a US Army Veteran from the Korean War, Bill also spent 30+ years at North Olmsted High School as a teacher, administrator, and football/baseball coach. Bill was known for his incredible Sense of Humor; In High School Bill drove around a Hearse with his close friend Danny Bryson purely for fun to get a reaction out of people and as a North Olmsted HS teacher created a fake student (Joe Pudich) who had a student ID card, was on attendance sheets, and even got a diploma! Die-Hard Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates Fan who loved dirty gin martinis, old westerns, baseball movies, Polish polka music, playing Solitaire, Crossword Puzzles, and Marlboro Red Kings!
A visitation for Bill will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd, Fairview Park, Ohio 44126. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur Friday, July 19, 2024 at 10:00 AM at St. Angela Merici Church, 20970 Lorain Road, Fairview Park, Ohio, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 14609 Brookpark Road, Brook Park, Ohio.
