MARY MAKOWSKI (nee McLaughlin), age 88, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024. Beloved wife of the late Alexander S; loving mother of Mary Carrick (Allan), Steve, Thomas , and the late Michael; dear grandmother of Katie Holstein (Jason), Ryan Carrick (Rebekha), Hannah Stevens (Jarrod), Jacob Carrick, Payton Makowski, Susan Makowski, Bella Makowski, Miranda Makowski, Hayden Makowski, and John Makowski; great grandmother of Kayla, Colton, Sophia, Nolan, Willow, Wade, Kendell, and Sonny; sister of the late Hugh Mclaughlin; aunt of many.
Mary worked in the guidance department of Magnificat High School for over 25 years making many good friends. She loved her job and interacting with the students and faculty.
She was a prolific reader and volunteered for many years at the Fairview Park Public Library. Mary was a quiet gentle mother who loved spending time with her family. Holiday and birthday celebrations were always occasions for the family to gather and enjoy grandmas cooking.
Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday October 16, at 11:30am in St Angela Merici Church, 20970 Lorain Rd. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 10 to 11am in the Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd.
