She was born in Queens, New York, the daughter of the late Robert F. and Helen (nee Kordish) Nemecek. Linda is the beloved wife of Richard; loving mother of Richard Nicholls, Ann Nicholls (Kelly Welsh), Elizabeth (Rodney) Pelletier and Catherine (Denarion) White; cherished grandmother of Richard “Tommy” Nicholls and Henry Nicholls-Welsh; dear sister of Robert (Carol) Nemecek and the late Carol Klos and Patricia Finnerty; adored aunt of many.
Linda’s life focused on family, faith, and friends. She was married to her “Dream Boat,” Rich, for 46 happy years. Together they raised four children, passing down their values of compassion, spirituality, and hard work. Linda was the backbone of her family and the center of family events, always cooking and coordinating birthday and holiday celebrations so that all family members could attend. She loved to spend time and play with her grandsons, ensuring she was a part of their lives as much as possible. During her later years Linda found more time to devote to her Catholic faith: regularly attending prayer groups at Saint Angela Merici and other parishes, studying the writings of Luisa Piccarreta on God’s Divine Will, and becoming a member of the Servite order. She had an enduring trust and devotion to the Blessed Mother. Her moto was “I believe so that I may understand.”
