the age of 70. Ann was an identical twin, born with her sister Barbara J. Butler, on
March 9, 1954, in Cocoa Beach, Florida to Al & Jean Butler. Ann and Barbara had four
older brothers: Tom and Dick (also identical twins), Frank, and Al.
Ann attended Cocoa Beach High School and went on to earn an associate degree from
Brevard County Community College. After school, Ann had adventures outside of
Florida, including living and working in Washington, DC before returning home to
Florida. Eventually, after Ann’s mother passed, she and Barbara moved to Cleveland,
where they lived near her brother Tom and his family. Ann enjoyed many years of a
close relationship with Tom and his children. Ann loved being closer to the Butlers and
Semples in the Cleveland area, cherishing the welcoming family community there.
Family was at the heart of Ann’s life. She deeply valued her connections with relatives
and took great interest in family history, ensuring she remained connected with her
brothers, nieces, and nephews. Ann shared a special bond with her older twin brothers,
Tom and Dick, who lovingly cared for their younger sisters all their lives.
Ann was a very proud aunt and relished any opportunity to attend a family event for one
of her brothers or their children. Once her nieces and nephews got married, Ann took
special interest in each spouse and all the children that came along. Ann had an
incredible memory and kept track of all the family birthdays and anniversaries. She
never missed an opportunity to wish one of her loved ones a happy birthday. She knew
each of her nineteen great nieces and great nephews by name and their birthdays as
well.
Ann enjoyed watching sports and keeping up with pop culture. She was always ready
to discuss the latest professional or collegiate sports or major network television show.
Ann entertained us all with her keen interest in and opinions on developments in sports.
She was a very dedicated Cleveland Browns fan, showcasing her unwavering loyalty.
That was her essence: deeply loyal and dedicated to her beloved family and sports
teams.
Ann was a devout Catholic and enjoyed being a member at St. Christopher’s parish.
She was involved in groups at church and a regular attendee to pray the rosary. Ann
also enjoyed activities at the senior center and developing relationships there.
Ann was preceded in death by her father, Al, her mother, Jean, and her brother,
Tom. She is survived by her brothers, Al, Frank, and Dick, her ten nieces and nephews,
and nineteen grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on March 18, 2024, at 11am at St. Christopher's Catholic
Church in Rocky River, Ohio, with a viewing 10-10:15am. Ann will be buried at Holy
Cross Cemetery where her brother Tom is also buried
