ALLAN FRANCIS BENNETT Aged 95 years. Spouse of Joan Marie Marquard (deceased). Brother of Neil, Lee and Nancy Brent. United States Navy Veteran and graduate of St. Ignatius High School and John Carroll University. Passed away August 26, 2023.

Father of: Richard (Kathleen), Brian (Cathleen), Barbara Corcoran (Thomas), Carol, and Gregory (Holly).

Grandfather of: Michael, Laura, Katelyn, Megan, Colleen, Zachary, Jordan, and Jacob. Great grandfather of seven.

Founder and CEO of Columbia Building Products Co., a structural steel and building supplies company in Olmsted Falls, Ohio, since 1957.

Allan was an avid Cleveland sports fan. He especially loved the game of baseball/softball. He played on and sponsored many softball teams through the years. He loved watching the Cleveland Indians (Guardians) and the Cleveland Browns games.

Allan enjoyed gardening and he received an award from the Fairview Park Garden Club for his home’s beautifully landscaped yard.

Allan and Joan took up the sport of golf together while in their 40’s. They were founders of the St. Angela Merici Church’s Couples Club golf league. They enjoyed playing competitive golf in many tournaments in Ohio and Florida.

Allan is a past president of Avon Oaks Country Club in Avon, Ohio and The Atlantis Golf Club in Atlantis, Florida.

A wake will be held Friday, September 22, 2023 from 4 – 7 pm at Corrigan Craciun Funeral Home, 20820 Lorain Rd., Fairview Park, Ohio 44126. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 10 am at St. Angela Merici Church. Private interment on a future date.
