Winifred “Winnie” A. Teal, nee Allen, 64, of O’Fallon Ill., born October 9, 1949, in East St Louis, Ill., departed this life on Thursday, July 03, 2014, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, to receive her just reward in heaven and take her place with the rest of God’s angels.
In 1968, Winnie, became the second woman to graduate from Althoff Catholic High School, in Belleville. She worked as a clerk for St. Louis Federal Savings and Loan in the early 70’s before marrying her husband, William, of 42 years in 1972. She was also employed in the local school system as a server and food preparer in the cafeteria. Her last place of employment was for Sedexho, at the O’Fallon High School, where she retired after 17 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and June, nee Irwin, Allen; two brothers, James and William Allen; a sister, Janet Sue Allen; and her grandparents.
Surviving are her husband, William “Bill” Teal, of O’Fallon; her daughter, Angela (Fred, Lt. Col. USA) Dente, currently stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas; her sons, Brian (Regina) Teal, of Belleville and Nicholas Teal of O’Fallon; her four grandsons, Joseph, Vincent, Fredrick, and John Dente; three sisters, affectionately known as the “Allen girls”, Sandra Allen, and Barbara Allen of Albers, IL and Pamela (Ivan) Gere of Houston TX; her brother, Anthony Allen of Phoenix, AZ. She also is survived by her loving Uncle, Don and Aunt Helen Irwin; Aunt Gladys Farthing, Oden IL, Aunt Dorothy Yakabovich, Troy, IL. Her most special, sister-in-law, Mary “Sis” (Robert) Cumiskey, of Haines City, FL; a sister-in-law, Kathy Allen of Patterborn, Ill., four nieces, Julie, MaryPat, Laurie, and Yvonne; five nephews, Steven, Keith, Donnie, Jimmy, and Ken; many cousins and friends, whom she loved dearly. Last, but not least, her “bestest buddies”, Dave and Ellen, a person couldn’t ask for better friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to her four angels; especially Laura and Tracy, who took such loving care of Winnie while she was on her journey through all the stages of her disease. You were there for her through all the good times and showed such patience through the tough times.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O'Fallon, Ill., and 9 to 10 a.m., Monday, July 7 at the church.
Funeral: A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, July 7, 2014 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, O’Fallon, Ill., with Monsignor William Hitpas officiating. Interment will be held privately.
