Thomas Jefferson Tippett, 75, passed away at 6:20 am on Saturday April 7, 2018 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon.
He was born on September 20, 1942 the son of the late Richard Lewis and Mary Ellen (Ruff) Tippett.
He married Janet Ann Keen on September 13, 1968 in Fairview Heights. She Survives.
Thomas was a proud veteran of the United States Army, as well as the owner of Tippett Feed Company in Collinsville. He had a love for Golfing, having built a 9 acre golf course by hand in his own back yard. He also enjoyed horse racing, having trained horses at the old Cahokia Downs race track and the Fairmont Park race track. To his family and friends he will always be known as a great story teller, never knowing if he was joking or being serious, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by four children Terri (Rick) Klotz of Belleville, IL, Christine (Rick) Forbes of Edwardsville, IL, Monica (Eric) Foster of Chaska, MN , and Richard (Lori) Tippett of O’Fallon, IL; four grandchildren Matthew Klotz, David Baker-Foster, Madison Tippett, and Alexa Tippett; four siblings Robert Tippett, Ellen (William) Beebe, Catherine Piazza, and Delia (Jerry) Schindler.
In addition to his parents Richard and Mary, he was preceded in death by three siblings Richard Tippett, Jean Alice Bynum, and Mary Tippett.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2018 from 10 am until the time of the memorial service at noon at Lake View Funeral Home in Fairview Heights, IL.
