Stephanie Rochelle Nelson

Stephanie was the youngest of six siblings. She had two brothers that preceded in death, Kevin Michael Nelson and Eric Vaughn Nelson, in February, 2000.

Stephanie attended East St. Louis Senior High School in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was a long time native of Illinois.

Stephanie left Illinois and moved to Jefferson City, Missouri where she resided for several years and was employed as a CNA. She wanted better opportunities for herself and mainly her children so, she decided to move to the state of Georgia in 2017.

Stephanie was a hard worker, a go getter and not a quitter. She was very outspoken on how she felt about anything. She always possessed a huge smile on her face. Stephanie was just a kind and loving person to know. She loved family, people, and friends and she would do anything for you . She was very talkative and never kept quiet. We cherish all the laughter and love and kindness she had for people in general.

Stephanie's sudden death was shocking and heartbreaking. Stephanie was a good mother of nine beautiful children whom she loved so dearly and was an exceptionally tidy person. She love being a mother and loved life. During difficult times, she never worried about anything. She would always say, “God got me.” “He will see me through it all.”

Stephanie leaves nine children to cherish her memories: Dajah Dominique Nelson, Destiny Mariah Turner, Devin Dashawn Nelson, Davion Marquice Nelson, Demarrion Dontez Nelson, Diamond Saniya Key, Danylah Rochelle Key, Kash Dion Key, Kamiyah Dior Key and her dog “Baby;” Her parents: Harold K. & Earlene Nelson, Her sisters: Kimberly A. Sumrall(Nelson), Nicole D. Stockett (Nelson), Shana M. Timbely (Abdul), brother-in-laws, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 12:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Interment to follow in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Belleville, IL.
