Sherry DuBose

Sherry DuBose, 66, of Fairview Heights, passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, July 11, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born March 21, 1957 in Beattyville, Kentucky to Butler and Gloria (Jewell) Moore. Sherry married the love of her life, Douglas W. DuBose Sr. on December 4, 1975 and shared 43 years together. Sherry was a devoted homemaker to her family. She had a heart of gold and was everyone’s “Mema” due to her caring, generous love that she shared with everyone. She had a passion for fishing. She had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers. She had a love for her animals and all her wind chimes. Sherry will be dearly missed.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include her dear children, Lennard (Sondra) DuBose, and Douglas DuBose Jr.; grandchildren, Christina Crews, Austin Crews, Casey (Krystal) DuBose, Garrett (Kaylee) DuBose, Sherry (Bethany) DuBose, Taylor (Cody Miller) DuBose, Kevin (Krystal) Brown, Wayne DuBose and Shelton DuBose; great-grandchildren, Charlie “Chicken” Miller and Colson DuBose; sisters, Wendy Deaton and Rita Miller.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Butler and Gloria (Jewell) Moore; loving husband, Douglas W. DuBose Sr.; daughter, Belinda DuBose; grandson, Charles “CJ” Smith; daughter-in-law, Rhonda DuBose; brother, Roy Friend; sister, Sara Deaton; brother, John Moore.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 6:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with visitation from 5:00pm until time of service. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
