Robert “Bob” Lee Strackeljahn, 87, of Collinsville, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022. He was born on June 14, 1934 in East St. Louis to Orville and Gladys (Hammock) Strackeljahn. Bob married Marlene Johanning August 7, 1954 in Christ the King Catholic Church. He was a special deputy for the Madison County Sherriff’s Department for 5 years and a State Park volunteer fire fighter for over 40 years. Bob also enjoyed hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene Strackeljahn; children, Jessica (Rolland) Trempert, Betty (Kenneth) Coleman, Mary (Phill) Hill, Robert (Kellie) Strackeljahn and Tom (Keri) Strackeljahn; grandchildren, Heidi, Craig, Amanda, Joshua, Kiana, LeeAnne, Brielle, Hannah, Elizabeth, Samuel, Michael, Andrea, Shelby and Connor; many great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church in Collinsville.
