Peggy Sue Townsend, 74, of St. Jacob, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022. She was born on January 11, 1948 in Granite City, Illinois to Chattie Owen and Mildred (Grant) Jackson. Peggy was a civil service secretary at Scott Air Force Base and retired in 2014. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family, who always came first. Peggy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her sons, Kevin (Jamie) Townsend and Keith Townsend; granddaughters, Taylor and Lauren Townsend; sisters, Mary Goes and Wanda Jackson and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Warnecke; brother, Charles Jackson and brother-in-law, Butch Goes.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 1:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Interment in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
