Paul Joseph Denny, 50, of Maryville, IL born on September 29, 1964 in Nice, France, died on Monday, August 17, 2015 as a result of a heart attack in the home he shared with his fiancé, Bridget Elizabeth Heck.
Paul was an amazing man, and he had a heart of gold. To know him was to love him. He never met a stranger. He would light up with joy when he would meet a friend, and he welcomed everyone with a hug. He had a passion and great knowledge for electronics, culinary arts, meteorology, symphonic orchestra, photography, and travel. As a child, he lived in Illinois, California, Alabama, and Texas relocating with his father in the armed services. He often would joke that he’s “Been Everywhere Man”. He loved nothing more than to cook a big feast for friends and family. He was a brilliant man that always had a quest for more knowledge. He was charming, funny, and filled with such a zest for life, even until his final hour.
He worked in Electronics throughout most of his career beginning at Circuit City. He continued his career at Metro Transit of St. Louis working as an Electo-mechanic. He received the opportunity to compete in a Rail Rodeo in San Francisco, CA placing 2nd in a National Rail Competition. Since 2012, he has worked at World Wide Technology at the Edwardsville location as an electronics lab technician for the AT&T program. He was always a great contributor to the lab’s success and growth. He was considered a subject matter expert and was a big solution provider to the operation. He won Employee of the Week a multitude of times, and his co-workers thought of him as a brother. As he was with everything in life, he was very passionate about his work. In September of 2014, he was accepted into the St. Louis, MO Square One Program, a program aimed for entrepreneurs whose focus is bio science, technology or consumer products or services. Through this program he researched and created technology to market his Hail Impact Sensor, which he created in 2010.
