Michael Carlton Farmer, 71, of Belleville, Illinois, born on June 18, 1945, in Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016, in St. Louis, Missouri, with his loving family by his side.
Mike loved playing golf and shooting guns at the range. He also enjoyed archery, a hobby he often did with his son and granddaughter. Mike was a Vietnam Veteran who served as a medic helping hundreds of soldiers during his tour. During his service he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and National Defense Service Medal. He later married Catherine Farmer and to this union brought two children. His greatest accomplishments were his family, in which he took much pride in. Mike loved to spend time with his granddaughters; taking trips to the zoo and the "dragon" park. Nurturing, caring, intelligent and outgoing are just a few characteristics to describe Mike. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Preceding him in death were both parents; William and Betty Farmer, nee Hanft.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his two loving children; Ashley (Nicholas Hallett)Farmer and Ian Farmer; his granddaughters, Zoey Elyse and Bella Katheryn; his brother and sister, Craig Farmer and Jana Zulauf; his former wife, Catherine Farmer; his best friends Jay Jevne and Mike "Lips" Leahy, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family relatives and dear friends.
