Marvin Lee King was born in Sikeston, Missouri on July 10, 1963 to Lorean Yarber and Henry King. He has resided in Sikeston, Missouri, El Reno, Oklahoma, Dallas, Texas and most recently O’Fallon, Illinois.
Marvin worked in the federal prison system, Frito Lay, and most recently the United States Postal Service. After resigning from the federal prison system, he become a commercial truck driver. He loved driving trucks with stints as an over the road driver and over the past few years as a local driver. Interesting fact, his CB radio handle was Dog Pound.
Marvin was a very outgoing person with a passion for enjoying life to the fullest. His passions were traveling, fishing, watching sports, and collecting guns. You could not find a more dependable and trustworthy individual. If there was anything you ever needed you could count on him to be there for you, no questions asked. He loved talking, and if he could talk 24 hours a day he would.
Marvin was a devoted husband, son, father and grandfather, and loyal friend. He was committed to ensuring he met his family’s financial and emotional needs. He worked tirelessly to help his wife establish her new business, frequently visited his mother, and shared his wisdom with his children and grandkids. Marvin remained in contact with friends and coworkers from each stage of his life. A testament to his loyalty as a friend were the overwhelming calls from friends who shared the impact he had on their lives.
Marvin joined New Life Community Church and immediately become an active member. He served on the security ministry, men’s ministry, baptism ministry, and deacon ministry. He was a blessing to each person he encountered because of his servant attitude.
Marvin preceded in death by his father Henry King, brother Michael King, and son Don Lott. Marvin will forever be remembered by his wife, Kim King of O’Fallon, Illinois; his mother Lorean Yarber of Sikeston, Missouri; daughters Jahmyyllah Butler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Naqueshia King of Clermont, Florida; son Jarico Hayes of El Reno, Oklahoma; grandchildren Don’ya Lott of St. Louis, Missouri; A-mon Lott of St. Louis, Missouir; Malik Gordon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Liam Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He will also be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
