Marcus was born on May 25, 1994 in Agana, Guam to his loving parents, Wayne and Aisel (Alcedo) Smiley. They reside in O’Fallon, IL.
Left to cherish his memory is his brother, Dominic Smiley of Edwardsville, IL; ten aunts, three uncles and numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Janie Smiley and Cornelius Courtland; maternal grandparents, Guadalupe Alcedo and Roberto Alcedo; and one aunt,Naomi Mills.
Marcus was a 2012 graduate of O’Fallon Township High School. He then attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, to begin working towards his Bachelor's degree in Economics. He later enlisted in the Illinois Air National Guard to proudly serve his country. He previously fulfilled duties as a Repair and Reclamation Journeyman and a Maintenance Operations Controller Apprentice. He was currently serving as an Aircraft Inspection Journeyman. He recently completed his Bachelor’s degree with a major in Economics and a minor in Business Administration.
Marcus had an adventurous spirit and never had a boring weekend. He loved to travel and see the world. His sense of adventure brought him years of memories, endless friendships and stories he loved sharing with those he loved.
Marcus was a diehard Raiders fan and also loved the Atlanta Braves. His loss leaves a painful void for his family but his wonderful, outgoing spirit and love of life will live in their hearts forever.

A visitation for Marcus will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.
A funeral service for Marcus will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Final interment will be held at Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, IL.
