Lavone was born December 20, 1951, in Santa Monica, California, the daughter of Lavon Clinton Hanon and Rose Anna Silva. She grew up in California and came to the St. Louis area in 1986. Lavone worked at Love Management in St. Louis before becoming a medical secretary for Washington University School of Medicine, from 1991-2008. Her second career was as a pharmacy technician at Barnes Jewish Hospital in the IV Stat Room where she worked from 2010 until her retirement in 2015. Lavone enjoyed reading, watching old movies, PBS mysteries, making jewelry, card making, painting wood crafts, and collecting autographs and perfume bottles. She was an avid Rams and Notre Dame fan. She liked cooking, traveling, putting things together and was a great intuitive people watcher.
Lavone is survived by her daughter, Kris Alvarez, grandsons, George and Nathaniel, all from California; sisters, Jacqueena Masters, Lorraine LaRue, Roseanna McDonnell, Rosemary Peterson, Leilani Emmsley, and brother, Robert Tso; special aunt, Jackie Deskin-Sims; aunts; uncles; brothers-in-law; cousin, Susie Brown; nieces, nephews; and special friend in life's journey, Vicki Crespi. She also survived by "adoptive parents" Amiel (Bullet) and Dorthea Crespi.
She is preceded in death by her parents; aunt and uncle, Phyllis and Lou Kranzler; and cousin, Alan Granger.
A celebration of Lavone's life is planned for Saturday, May 4, 2019. Visitation will begin at 10 am at Lakeview Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois and will be followed with a service at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis and Mid-America Transplant.
