Larry Royce Heaton, 83, of Highland, passed away Monday, December 5, 2022. He was born June 1, 1939 to Harvey and Violet (Kite) Heaton. Larry received his Bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University and his Master’s Degree Oklahoma State University. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force retiring as a Major on May 31, 1983 after 20 years of service. After retirement, Larry managed Kuhn Lumber. He was the past President of the Belleville Lion’s Club. Larry also enjoyed collecting stamps and coins. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Dawn Heaton; children, Larry R. ( Lee Ann) Heaton, Jr. and Angela (Doug) Ratermann; grandchildren, Keith (Meghan) Dalton, Victoria (Alex) McDonald, Megan (Derek) Steiner, Heath Ratermann, Paige (Damian) McMullins, Ally (Dan) Schwab, Ryan (Cayla) Northcut and Jenna Northcut; 9 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held Friday, December 16, 2022 from 12:00pm – 2:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home. 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208. Memorial contributions can be made to the Belleville Lion’s Club.
