Karen Therese Kossow of O’Fallon IL was peacefully placed in God’s loving hands and under His direct care on May 25th, 2015. Karen fought and beat ovarian cancer for over 3 ½ years by how she lived her life with amazing grace. Her strength, courage, and positivity will be the source from which we will draw upon at this time in our lives and going forward. She inspired so many people with her tenacity and no matter the problem. Karen taught us how to use hope, positive energy, faith, and prayer as not only a solution, but a way of living life to the fullest.
Karen grew up in Milwaukee WI, married her high school sweetheart, Michael Kossow, and gave life to three children, Bryan Kossow (wife Whitney), David Kossow, and Laura Kossow. A former military wife, she supported her husband, family, and country for over 21 years. Karen’s smile not only made her beautiful, but approachable to everyone she met. Karen never knew a stranger. Her laugh and sense of humor made everyone feel true happiness and always left people feeling better than before they met her. Karen’s ability to create joy and fun out of even the simplest of things was her gift to this world.
God’s new angel, was also survived and loved by her mother Joanne Medrano (nee Hass), sister Debi Kottke and sister-in laws, brother-in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews too numerous to list but not forgotten.
