John Anthony Hines

John Anthony Hines, 83, of Belleville, IL, passed away at Lebanon Care Center on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. He was born on July 19, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, to Arthur and Veronica "Bonnie" (Frawley) Hines. John married his wife, Lala, on September 26, 1962 and together they had three children.

John was a maintenance mechanic for Willert Home Products. He enjoyed playing poker, fishing, watching Cardinals and Chiefs games, but above all else, he treasured spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Richard, Arthur and Forest Hines, Priscilla McMillian, two infant twin brothers; and his son-in-law, Robert Palausky.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 60 years, Lala (Campos) Hines; children, Mark (Joelle) Hines, Tina Palausky, and Toni (Matt) Sears; grandchildren, Ryan Hines, Cole Hines, Luke Sears, and Elsa Sears; sister, Patsy Brewer; former daughter-in-law, Diana Palacios Riel and her daughter, Malerie Ray Valerius; plus countless other friends and extended family.

In lieu of flowers donations in John’s honor can be made to Lebanon Care Center or VITAS Hospice.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, IL.

Luncheon immediately afterward at Country Meadows Clubhouse, 300 Chambers Blvd, Swansea, IL 62226.
