October 12, 2022 at Freeburg Care Center. Janet was born to the parents of Victor and Helen (Gross) Lambert, of Shawneetown, IL.
Her family moved many times during her childhood. After landing in the metro east, Belleville
was the place where she met her husband of 58 years, Norman D. Wright. It was there that
they raised four children and resided for the remainder of their lives. Janet chose to stay home
to raise their children which she did brilliantly. She provided a home of love, acceptance, great
meals and many laughs. It was a place that was known to many of her children's friends as
their second home.
She later worked at the Illinois State DVM where she enjoyed seeing many familiar faces when
they would come in for their drivers license. She enjoyed honing her homemaking skills, days
at Westhaven pool, and dancing the jitterbug with Norm. She was in the Red Hat Society and
enjoyed many luncheons following water aerobics with the LiveRite ladies. She participated in
Bible Study Fellowship and was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman Wright and granddaughter,
Morgan Wright.
She is survived by her four children, Pamela Wright Johnson (Tim), David Alan Wright (Krissa),
Lisa Rae Reichert (Kim), and Jeffrey Paul Wright; grandchildren, Timothy Johnson, Stephanie
Johnson, Cole Reichert (Kaitlynn), Sheridan Wright, Kai Reichert (Allie Grace), Chase Wright
and Raquel Wright; great-grandchild, Brynn Reichert and step-grandchildren Logan Cox and
Caden Cox.
The family wants to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of devoted and loving
caretakers at Freeburg Care Center where she resided for the past 9 months and to Belleville
Family Hospice for their wonderful care and guidance.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Belleville Family Hospice or charity of donors
