James Jake Jacobs

Mr. Jacobs was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hiking, bird watching, and taking care of his lawn. He was a member of the Sierra Club Kaskaskia Group as well as different waste water treatment organizations. Jake was a graduate of Lincoln Land College and the S.I.U.E. waste water treatment program. Prior to returning to further his education he was employed with Tower Fire Apparatus, Midland Supply and later Winnelson . He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren, and will be missed by his beloved dog Josie.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rudolf Jacob; a sister, Janice Ludwig; and his best friend, Jay Oates.

Surviving are his wife, Penni Livingston; his two daughters, Jessica (Alex) Johnson of Mascoutah, Ill., and Samantha (Matt) Ballard of Shiloh, Ill.; two grandchildren, Paige and Sean Johnson; his mother, Dorothy Jacobs, nee Steadman, of Polo, Ill.; six sisters, Betty Tornow, Sharon Brown, Donna McCombs, Linda Shoffner, Kathy Hoffman, and Lori Scott; nephew, Bill Jacobs-Lanark; mother-in-law, Connie Livingston-Dunn; father-in-law, David (Terri) Livingston; a brother-in-law, David "Nick" (Renee') Livingston; two sisters-in-law, Polli (Fred) Toms and Susan Livingston; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Memorials are appreciated to the Sierra Club Kaskaskia Group or the American Diabetes Association .
