James “Jim” Thomas Hoelscher, 71, of Ellis Grove, IL, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born July 23, 1952 in Red Bud, IL to Virgil and Alma (Dickerson) Hoelscher. Jim was an avid hunter who found peace being in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed fishing and had a love for horses. When Jim wasn’t spending time outside you could often find him enjoying an old western movie. Jim loved his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his children, Anissa Parker, Thomas (Gina) Hoelscher, Jami (James) Stringer and Joey Hoelscher; grandchildren, Scott Hoelscher, Wesley Parker, Clayton Hoelscher, Shane Zimmer, Jordan Zimmer, Josephine Hoelscher and Memphis Stringer; great-grandchildren, Liam and Asher Hoelscher; brother, Mike (Deborah) Hoelscher; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Alma Hoelscher; sister, Theresa Bayer and son-in-law, Robert Parker.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 4, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Smithton, IL.
