George served in the Army from 1950-1953, was a retired Boilermaker Local 363, and a life member of the Caseyville VFW Post 1117
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mamie (Poff) Habermehl; sisters Wilma Withrow and Lillian Roberts
He is survived by his loving wife, Rose Marie, (nee Goodock)Habermehl, who would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary, May 5, 2012; son George Habermehl Jr.; daughter, Sandi (Larry) Lewis; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bob) Malottki, George III (Emily) Habermehl, James Habermehl, Dallas Habermehl; Great –grandchildren, Cecylia Malottki, Talon Habermehl; brothers, Robert (Linda) Habermehl; sisters, Edna (Tom) Dillon, Dolores (Don) McAlister, Katy Habermehl, Dorothy McIntyre
