Gary Andrew Patterson, 78, of Cahokia Heights, Illinois passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024. He was born July 8, 1945 in East St. Louis to Henry Monroe and Nettie Bell (Woods) Patterson. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. Gary married the love of his life, Rose Taormina on August 11, 1967. He enjoyed going to the horse races and playing cards. Gary will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rose Patterson; daughters, Barbara (Joe) Ledlow and Patricia Patterson; son, William Patterson; grandchildren, Ryan Ledlow and Danielle Patterson; brother, Darrell Patterson. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ted Patterson, Morris Patterson, Betty Hart, Henry Patterson, Carol Butcher and Bill Patterson.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Rd., St. Louis, MO 63125. Memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
