Evelyn M. Embrey

Mrs. Embrey retired from St. Elizabeth’s hospital after many years of service as an EKG Tech and nurse’s aide. She loved her dogs and fondly referred to them as her children. She had a loving and caring nature; and will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Christine, nee Amann, Thompson; her husband, T. Dwayne Embrey; her brothers, Leo, Harold, Louis, Melvin, Everett, Glen, and Floyd Thompson; and two sisters, Bertha Burnett and Lillian Thompson.

Surviving are her brothers, Alvin Thompson, of North Carolina and Arthur (Pat) Thompson, of Collinsville, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Josephine and Loretta Thompson; and many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff’s at Four Fountains Convalescent Center and Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Memorials are appreciated to the Belleville Humane Society or to the Hospice of Southern Illinois.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Friday, September 14, 2012, at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Funeral: Services will be held at 7 p.m., Friday September 14, 2012, at the funeral home, with Rev. Charles West officiating. Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
