Estella "Stella" Lee Norman

Stella was a member of Calvary General Baptist Church, East Crondelet, Ill. Her passion and focus in life was taking care of her husband, Everett and all of her children. She made sure that all of them were very well taken care of and always had food on the table. Stella was an excellent seamstress and often sewed for other people, but mainly herself and all of her children growing up.

She belonged to the Ladies Aid in Cabool, Mo., and to the Pisgah Baptist Church, Cabool, Mo. She loved to sing and play the piano and had participated in several Quartettes.

She was a wonderful homemaker and will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Everett Norman, who she married on January 16, 1927 in Rector, Arkansas; her three sons, Larry Lee, Donald and Buster Norman; three grandchildren, Cynthia Clement, Brian Argus and Sarah Jones; her parents, John Henry & Pearl Elizabeth,nee Maye, Smith; her brother and sisters, Herbert Smith, Vernie Smith, Myrtle Bucy, Gladys Gowan, Cleetus Bardsley, George Smith and Dwight Smith; a son-in-law, Joseph Taylor and a daughter-in-law, Geraldine Norman.

Surviving are her seven loving children, Ladell (Helen) Norman, Mildred Taylor, Joan (Dave) Buehler, Patricia (Emmett) Argus, Ella (Herbert) Griffin, Sharon (Charles) Hooker and Terry Norman; 27 Grandchildren (14 spouces), 40 Great Grandchildren (6 spouces) and 24 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Per the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Calvary General Baptist Church, 40 Godin Ave., East Crondelet, Ill., 62240

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. -8:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Lake View Funeral Home with Rev. Gale Lambert officiating.

Interment will be held privately in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Ill.
