Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Lewis

Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Lewis, 84, of Fairview Heights, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 14, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 22, 1938 in Fairview Heights to Charles and Leona (Merrill) Schwahn. She married Paul Lewis in 1995 in Missouri. Betty graduated Barber College in Belleville in 1976. She was the first female barber in the metro area. Betty held government contracts with two military centers and proudly owned her own barbershop as well. She also had a passion for painting, drawing and sewing. Betty was known for her heart of gold and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Denise) McPherson, Terrie McPherson and Michael (Elena) McPherson; grandchildren, Jennifer (Zac) Neumann, Randa (Nathan) Fairchild and Heather (Phillip) Girardin; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; siblings, Jacqueline Spieker, Robert Schwahn and Laura Ferrell and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul Lewis; grandson, Jeremy S. McPherson; siblings, William Schwahn, Danny Schwahn, Kenneth Schwahn, Janice Hancock and Karen Nihiser.

No services will be held at this time. Inurnment in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
