Diane Marie Conley

Diane Marie Conley, nee Sabo, 54, of Fairview Heights, Ill., born July 5, 1956 in East St. Louis, Ill., died after a courageous battle with breast cancer on Thursday, July 15, 2010 with her loving family by her side.

Diane formerly worked for Tip Top Cleaners in Belleville, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Sabo Sr., and a sister-in-law, Sandy Sabo.

Surviving are her loving husband of 33 years, Roderic Conley of Fairview Heights, Ill., three loving children, Angela Conley of Belleville, Ill., Jennifer and Eric Conley of Fairview Heights, Ill., and one expected grandchild due in November; her mother, Alice, nee Raeber, Sabo; a brother, Charles (Lynn) Sabo Jr. of Fairview Heights, Ill., and a sister, Patricia (Minor) Keller of O'Fallon, Ill.,and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Children's Hospital, MO., or to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Belleville, Ill.

My mother is tough

My mother is sweet

Cancer has stricken

But in NO WAY has her defeat!

My Mother is courageous

My Mother is beautiful

For the second bout with cancer

This disease is no way new to her!

My Mother has breast cancer

A common among women

She beat this illness once

A victory few ever win…

Now cancer is back

But in a different form

She is giving it hell

Like a lightening in a violent storm!

She is so strong

I love her with all of my heart

She kept a positive attitude

And kept fighting from the start

Cancer will not beat her

Because she will never give up

Nothing will break my mother

Not even a malignant lump…

Cancer is nothing

And Mother laughs at its wrath

The first words at her diagnoses was

Cancer can kiss my ass!

My Mother has in her

Qualities that make her a hero

Strength is so plentiful

Giving up is a zero!

My Mother is my icon

In her I believe

Hope and faith are beside her

They will never leave!

God stands and follows her

Wherever she goes

My love for her is unconditional

And everyday it grows!

You may take her body cancer

Or maybe take her health in time

But her spirit and soul you will never take

Those are all mine!!!

Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home, Fairview Heights, Ill., and from 12:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M. on Monday, July 19, 2010 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Lake View Funeral Home with Diane’s Brother-in-Law, Rev Bruce Conley officiating. Interment will be held in Lake View Memorial Gardens, Fairview Heights, Illinois.
