Carol Sue Aaron, 85, of Troy, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She was born March 5, 1938 in Charleston, West Virginia to Jacob Carl and Icy (Debord) Roberts. Carol enjoyed volunteering at the Freedom Farm in Freeburg where her husband, Floyd, was a member. In her later years, she had a passion for crocheting and loved playing bingo. Carol’s family was most important to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she loved spending time with. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Vicki (Mark) Bugger; grandchildren, Jesse (Nikki) Bugger, Mark T. (Kim) Bugger, Lee Ann (Brian) Horan and Jacob (Kelley) Bugger; great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Hayden, Ellie, Addison, August, Claire, Charles, Eydie, Nolan and Ronan; sister, Judith (Jerry) Atkins; brothers, Alan Roberts and Ricky (Diana) Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd W. Aaron; son, Thomas James Hopper; sisters, Ramona Hord and Mary Ingram and brothers, Thomas L. Roberts and Kenneth Roberts.
A funeral service for Carol will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 12:00pm in Lake View Funeral Home, 5000 N. Illinois St., Fairview Heights, IL 62208 with a visitation from 10:00am until time of service. Interment to follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Catholic Children’s Home in Alton, IL.
