Born in Independence, MO June 20, 1932, Alice was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to whom she dedicated her life to serving, December 5, 2022. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, teacher and friend, she was loved by all. Her bright cheery smile would fill a room and warm your heart. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Harold D Watson, mother and father Della Mae and John Tillman Reynolds and her brother John Benjamin Reynolds. She is survived by her loving sister Nadine Wells of Evergreen, CO, children William Thomas Murrell (Linda), Carolyn Sue Atwood and Donald Wayne Murrell (Brenda), her grandchildren Richard Atwood (Sara), Nathan Murrell (April), David Murrell, Christina Powell (James Jr), Ian Murrell, Nelson Sprague and Rianna Sprague, great grandchildren Xander Atwood, Kimberly Powell, Lexi Atwood, James Powell III, and Alex Holliday, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews across the country. Alice loved them all and they her.
Alice worked for many years in the offices of A&P Tea Company in Sauget, IL, Chapman Ice Cream in St. Louis and Ice Cream Specialties also in St. Louis. At A&P she met the love of her life Harold with whom she would be married and spend 24 happy years. She was always a caretaker devoting herself to the care of her own mother Della and later her husband during his battle with Alzheimer's disease. Late in life Alice extended her role as caretaker to others as she saw to the needs of those who could not care for themselves. Alice was dedicated to her church, Meadow Heights Baptist, and to serving others as a Sunday school teacher and a living example of Christian faith and values. She will be dearly missed by all she touched.
A special thanks to her friends and community at the Grand Manor in Swansea, IL who provided her with warmth and a home in her later years. And a very special thanks to the nurses and doctors at HSHS and St. Elizabeth's for the care and love they gave Alice throughout the many times she relied on them to bring her back to health over the past year. The family is grateful to all.
To honor her, please consider donating to Meadow Heights Baptist Church or the HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Foundation.
