William J. Pires, age 46, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 22, 2017 surrounded by his family after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Natalie C. Pires to whom he had been married for 9 years.
Bill was born in New Bedford, the son of Clarisse (Bala) Pires of Fairhaven and the late Roger W. Pires. He was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven and a 1989 graduate of Fairhaven High School.
Bill was employed as Machine Operator with Titleist Company for over 26 years. He enjoyed playing his guitar and listening to live music. Bill was a huge sports fan, especially of the Boston Red Sox and Tennessee Titans. Most of all, he enjoyed being a devoted husband, proud father, caring son and supportive brother. Bill had a contagious laugh and always put a smile on those around him.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his three children, Evan R. Pires and twin daughters Allison M. and Audrey C. Pires; two brothers Roger W. Pires Jr. and wife Danielle of Plymouth and Raymond Pires and wife Lori of Fairhaven; a sister Trish Stefanini and husband Dennis of Fairhaven and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services are private and in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Bill’s family would like to thank all the caring staff of North and South 8 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston and Hope Hospice agency.
