Wesley S. Vaughan Sr., 86 of Fairhaven, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Saint Luke's Hospital.
Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Stephen and Mary (Peters) Vaughan. Wesley was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational School. After to his retirement as being a foreman at Schaeffer Marine in 1994, he was a security guard at Best Security of Fall River. He was a Union Rep for 15 years on the Local Union #59 and ran for their trustee’s office in 1995.
Wesley was a member of the Lakeville Eagles and was an avid softball player. He loved to go bowling. He was part of the Tradesman League, was coach of the year in 1989 for the M.S.Y.A.B.A Bowling League and became president of the league from 1981-1989.
He is survived by his three sons Paul Vaughan of New Bedford, Wesley Vaughan of Freetown and Joel Costa of New Bedford; two daughters Tammy Isherwood of Acushnet, Jody DeLuca of Narragansett; four sisters Lottie Joseph of New Bedford, Virginia Santo of Fairhaven, Betty Stebenne of New Bedford and Norma Tripp of Westport; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was the father of the late Charles Vaughan and brother of the late Constance Benge, Elaine Romberg, and Stephen Vaughan.
