Born in Providence, a son of James J. and G. Patricia (O’Brien) Kelly he grew up there and lived most of his life between Newport and Cranston before moving to this area several years ago.
Steve graduated from high school before graduating from Boston College. He worked as a teacher for many years and he also worked at Monmet Jewelers Gorham Silver before his retirement. Steve was an avid sports fan, history buff and he enjoyed camping and golfing.
In addition to his companion, he is survived by two sons, Matthew Kelly and his wife Dana and Daniel Kelly all of Chicago; grandchild, Errol Kelly; one brother, James Kelly and his wife Julianne of Fairhaven; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joan Goes.
His family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at their home at 69 Cedar St., Fairhaven from 4-7 pm.
