He was the beloved husband of Patricia L. (Charron) Cardoso.
Born in São Miguel, Aҫores, he came to the United States at the age of seven. He was the son of Maria Cardoso and the late Antonio Cardoso.
Mr. Cardoso proudly served in the United States Navy for 24 years until his retirement as Chief Petty Officer.
Sergio enjoyed gardening and all aspects of nature. Being outdoors and going for walks was a relaxing activity for him. He collected comic books, enjoyed watching old movies and was a talented artist. Sergio loved music of all genres and reminiscing about his time in the Navy.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his daughters, Chelsi Cardoso and her husband Bailey French, Jeni Williamson and her husband Brian, and Amanda Mansker; his siblings, Antonio Cardoso and his wife Ellen, Doris Goncalves and her husband Alfredo and Cecilia Palhota and her husband Pedro; his grandchildren, Laila, Tristin, Brody and Brooke; his godparents, Joao and Donatilde Balanҫa, Diamantina Balanҫa and the late Jose Balanҫa; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his goldendoodle and constant companion, Gabby.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm with a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
