Russell J. Costa, 71, of Fairhaven passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 23, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Jean (Audette) Costa with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Joseph F. and Rose (Mello) Costa he was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Costa worked for the Town of Fairhaven in the Sewer Department. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching the Patriots and Red Sox.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tara Costa of New Bedford; two sons, Eric Costa of Dartmouth and Jason Costa of New Bedford; one brother Robert Costa of Fairhaven; three grandchildren, Samantha, Sydney, and Alyssa; one great grandchild, Natalia; and several nieces and nephews.
