Robert A. Longworth

Robert A. Longworth, 70, of Acushnet passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Linda (Gallant) Longworth with whom he shared 47 years of marriage.

Born in Acushnet, a son of the late Andrew and Alfreda (Robichaud) Longworth, Jr. he was a lifelong area resident. Bob was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Parish.

Bob worked as a supervisor at Chamberlain Manufacturing and Paragon in Taunton. He was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed sitting by the water with his friends. He ran Dockside Bait & Tackle. Bob liked being outdoors and hanging out in his shed.

He is survived by his children, Michael Longworth of Los Angeles, CA, Robert T. Longworth of Colorado, and Candice Bessette and her husband Michael of Acushnet; two grandchildren, Michael and Hollie. He was the brother of the late Rita Longworth.

His funeral will be Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 9 a.m. from WARING-SULLIVAN at FAIRLAWN, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., Acushnet.
