Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Arthur and Katherine (Marshall) Boucher, he was a life-long resident of the area.
Mr. Boucher served in the US Army during Peacetime, was a life-member of the VFW and was a member of the Color Guard. He was also a member of the KOFC and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Fairhaven. He worked at the Acushnet Co. for 32 years before retiring.
He is survived by three sisters, Shirley Pelland of Acushnet, Barbara Machado of Fairhaven and June Perry and her husband Lynn also of Fairhaven; one brother Arthur Boucher and his wife Georgie of Colorado and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, all who loved their Uncle Ray dearly. He was also the brother of the late Richard Boucher.
His funeral will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 9 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN Home of Memorial Tribute, FAIRLAWN MORTUARY, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven, followed by his funeral mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 74 Spring St., Fairhaven. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours, Thursday 5-8 PM. Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to, St. Joseph’s Church, Fairhaven.
