Mary (Osenkowski) Witkowicz, age 98, of Fairhaven, passed away 6 days shy of her 99th birthday. She was the beloved wife of the late Felix S. Witkowicz with whom she shared 67 years of marriage and has now been reunited.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Agnieszka (Hamot) Osenkowski, she was a lifelong resident of Fairhaven.
Mary was a selflessly devoted wife, an exceptional homemaker, loving mother and grandmother. A very devout Catholic, her faith in God and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary has sustained her long life. “Go with God” was her motto.
Mrs. Witkowicz was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Bedford and was a member of Our Lady’s Society. She worked as a stitcher part time at Eastern Sportswear in New Bedford.
Survivors include 5 children, Mary Anne Polchlopek, her loving and dedicated caregiver, and her husband Walter of Fairhaven, Felix J. and wife Susie of MO, Staś and wife Terri of CT, Leon T. and wife Nancy of FL, Janice Ragazzo and husband Tony of NY, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, a sister, Flora Reeder of MD, and many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by 6 sisters, Caroline Zyskowski, Cecelia Ozenkowski, Helen Brennan, Stella Souza, Albina Medeiros and Emelia Jachna.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 9AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington Street, Fairhaven, MA followed by her Funeral Mass at 10AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 235 North Front Street, New Bedford. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8PM. Burial will be private.
