Margaret E. Wilcox

Born in Warwick, RI, a daughter of the late John and Lily (Jones) Wilcox, she had resided in Fairhaven since 1965. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School, class of 1943.

Miss Wilcox received her Licensed Practical Nurse license from Diman Vocational School at the age of 47 and worked at St. Luke’s Hospital until her retirement. Previously, she worked at Sippican Inc. in Marion for many years.

In her leisure time, she enjoyed gardening and loved all animal life. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #49.

Survivors include three nieces and a dear friend, Ted Silva. She was the sister of the late Wilfred and Irene Wilcox.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 9-10am in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven followed by a graveside service at 10:30am in South Dartmouth Cemetery, Elm St., South Dartmouth.
