Jason M. Schofield, age 44, of Fairhaven, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of Julia (Carreiro) Schofield to whom he had been married for the past 3 years.
Born in Quincy, MA the son of Ed Marden of Townsend, MA, Denise (Lebert) Pennini of Boston and adopted father William Schofield of Rockland, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Westfield State University.
Jason was employed as a Manager with High Point Treatment Center in New Bedford and prior to that Trinity Rehabilitation in Woonsocket and Adcare.
Jason was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed being the Cub Master of Pack 52 in Fairhaven. He loved all things Disney, Camping with his family at Curlew pond in Myles Standish State Forest and trips to New Hampshire. He also loved spending every second with his family and having spontaneous adventures.
In addition to his loving wife and parents, Jason is survived by four children, Patrick and Nicholas Schofield of Hingham, MA and Paige and Caiden Lynch of Fairhaven; his father in-law Gilbert Carreiro of Fairhaven; mother in-law Joan Olival of New Bedford; siblings Brianna Mulvey and her husband Al, Megan Schofield and her daughter Emily, Dan Schofield, Rayne DuPaul and her husband Neil and their daughter Arden, Sarah Albright and her husband Rob and their daughters Devlyn and Aviendha, and Ashley Marden and her Fiancé Tom; a brother in-law Jason Carreiro and his children Jacob and Lyla.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 11AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT FAIRLAWN 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Visiting hours will be Monday from 5 to 8PM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his honor may be made to Pack 52 of Fairhaven, 148 Sycamore St., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
