Born in Boston, on October 6, 1930, he was the son of the late Carlo and Cologera (Di Salvo) Russo.
Mr. Russo graduated from Waltham High School; attended the University of Kansas, at Lawrence; the US Naval Prep School for the Academy at Annapolis; the US Naval Administration Yeoman School, and Suffolk University.
Mr. Russo enlisted in the US Navy in 1951 as a Seaman recruit and was honorably discharged as a Yeoman Second Class Pretty Officer and attained a rank of Senior Yeoman. For the majority of his Navy experience, he was stationed in Iceland aboard the U.S.S. Hambleton. He received the Navy Commendation and National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
After the Navy, Mr. Russo continued his education at Suffolk University attending the night school program in Business Administration. He worked as a Contract Administrator for Avco, Sanders Associates and at Itek. It was during this time that he and his many friends enjoyed skiing and taking the ski train to Vermont in the winter and vacationing with his closest friends in Hampton, New Hampshire. Later in life, he finished his lengthy career with the USPS.
Mr. Russo was a lifelong bachelor who dearly loved his many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. He always looked forward and enjoyed spending time in their company. Recently, he enjoyed and depended on his home health aide.
Mr. Russo was predeceased by his only sister and his five brothers.
