Diane (LaBrie) Ellis, 65, of Fairhaven, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at home following a long courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Ralph K. Ellis with whom she shared 42 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Gerald and Theresa (Blanchard) LaBrie, she was raised in New Bedford and Dartmouth and had resided in Fairhaven since 1969. She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, class of 1967.
Diane was a devoted and dedicated pre-school teacher for over 30 years, investing herself in the teaching of over a thousand students. Her spirituality and love has touched more lives than we could begin to number. Her life continues to impress and always will. She was one of the founders of Noah’s Ark Day Care at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Fall River where she had taught for the past 15 years. Diane loved her faith, her students and her loving family and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Michael C. Ellis and his wife Laura of Scottsdale, AZ and Matthew P. Ellis and his wife Jennifer of Westwood, MA; a brother, Paul LaBrie and his wife Jacqueline of New Bedford; a sister, Martha Marino and her husband Thomas of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Ryan, Michelle and Nathaniel Ellis; and many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 1PM in the Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 4231 N. Main St., Fall River. Visiting hours Sunday 3-6PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven. Burial will be private.
