Suzanne Thweatt

Suzanne Thweatt was born to Lawrence Thweatt and Roxie Thweatt. She was the first of their two daughters. Even at an early age Suzanne was very responsible, loving and intelligent. Suzanne was an exceedingly scholar who was skipped three grades in grammar including kindergarten.
Suzanne’s love for education, teaching and knowledge was too in her blood from a young age. Suzanne took many children under her wing in her childhood neighborhood, Far Rockaway. Suzanne worked as a Summer school counselor, teacher’s aide and tutor all while she was still in her teens.
Suzanne attained her degree in early education from St. Johns University, Suzanne also had a master degree from the New School and Walden University. Following in her families footprints of an incredible career path in education, as her mother Roxie was a counselor, her aunt Darryl a daycare director and her uncle Lez a college professor at St. John’s. Suzanne taught grade school for over 25 years of her life, and over 20 of those years was in the Fairfax school district.
Suzanne was a published author, very inclined in music and traveled the states in her passionate musical path. Suzanne loved the performing arts, the New York Ballet and Broadway shows, she was her mother’s favorite seat mate. She was a publicist and worked with many recording artists in the Fairfax area. Suzanne also participated in her church choir and held bible study classes.
Suzanne was very active in her church, a strong believer and devout Christian as well as an active scholar at Bethel School of Ministry, where a lot of her time became allocated.
Suzanne lived a purposeful and meaningful life, with a legacy of love, caring and nurturing seeds being deposited in her community, with her students and upon her family.
