Peter David Fenske was born in Oconomowoc, WI on October 29, 1980. He was born with music in his DNA and spent his childhood immersed in the Lakeside Lutheran High School band program where he played the trumpet and enjoyed traveling the country with the band with his father, the band director, and his mother, sister and brother. He had many fond memories of the trips taken. At Lakeside, he also ran cross country and played basketball and was known as a formidable force in both sports. He attended college first at Bethany Lutheran in Mankato, MN and then at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI. In college, Peter played baseball and was a respected teammate. He was introduced to Caroline by his roommate in their senior year at WLC. Not long after graduation, Peter and Caroline moved to Virginia and were married on July 24, 2004. Allison was born in 2007 and Aidan in 2010. Peter loved his wife and children deeply. Some of his favorite family times were trips to Florida, the Outer Banks and to his in-laws country home in Marshall, VA. He looked forward to returning to Wisconsin to visit family, both close and extended, and to show his children pieces of his childhood. He relished Sunday family dinners and special gatherings to celebrate birthdays, graduations and other occasions. Peter was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, even in the face of leaving “the fatherland” for Redskins territory. Baseball played a large part in his life and the Brewers took center stage. He enjoyed golfing and quickly fell in love with Virginia when he was able to golf in the middle of his first winter here. He was loyal to those he loved to a fault. He never met someone who wasn’t a friend and was a faithful friend to those he brought into his inner circle. Peter was the life of the party and had an infectious smile and laugh. He had a perpetually positive outlook on life and believed the best in every person and situation. He was a fun-loving uncle to 3 special nieces; Madison, Mackenzie and Molly. He passed on to his children such attributes as strength, kindness, tender-heartedness, a sense of humor, positivity and a love for the Lord. Peter loved the Lord and served him in his daily life and also in the church by playing trumpet, ushering and serving as Chairman of the Board of Christian education. Peter desired that his life be a testament to God’s grace and that God would use his life to draw others to Him. This was never more evident than in his battle with cancer. He saw God’s blessings throughout his fight and prayed that God would use his situation to grow His kingdom. Peter loved to serve people and excelled in his career at Neustar as a Regional Account Manager. He developed strong relationships with co-workers and was proud to call them friends. He was a well-loved and respected employee and co-worker. Peter is survived by his wife of 10 years, Caroline, daughter Allison, and son Aidan. His father, David and mother, Ruth, sister Naomi and brother John. His grandfather Robert Niedfeldt. His in-laws Doug and Peggy Foster, Jean Foster, Al and Betsy Campos, Colby Foster, Joe Foster, nieces Madison, Mackenzie and Molly, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Peter will be remembered with great fondness and love and will remain alive in the hearts of those who loved him.
