On April 14, 2021, Patricia Mae (Umland) Taylor was finally released from her earthly bonds and called home to join her beloved husband, Jack, and long lost son, Mark. Pat was born on August 27, 1938 to Oscar and Florence Umland in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She had valiantly fought the ravages of Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia and passed peacefully from this world on April 14, 2021.
Pat grew up in Wisconsin, attended Dr. Martin Luther College and Michigan Lutheran Seminary. She made some of her most dearest lifelong friends at these schools and she held them in her heart until the end. After graduation Pat went to California to teach. It was there she met the love of her life, Jonathon “Jack” Taylor. They knew they were destined to be together and married in December 1962. Pat and Jack were blessed with three children, Patricia “Dawn”, Mark Robert, and Jill Ann.
Pat’s love of family, friends, music, and laughter will be missed by all her knew her. She was a loving mother, devoted friend, caring teacher, ardent singer, and, some would say, a terrible foe when it came to card games. Her commitment to her family and friends was unquestionable. With her departure, a little light has gone from our lives. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, the tragically early death of her son, Mark, and her husband and love of her life, Jack. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia “Dawn” Sorenson and Jill Ann Toloso; her Daughter-in-law, Kellie Taylor; her grandchildren, Stephen, Christian, Glorya, Nicole, and Megan; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver and Calvin; and many others from both sides of her family.
