Lillian was the daughter of Edward John Braun and Elizabeth Mary Wittnebert of New York City. She grew up in Manhattan, NY, during the great depression and later moved to the Bronx. Lillian met John Donnelly in NY City and when he joined the Army, she packed a bag and they eloped to Buzzards Bay, MA, and were married on 17 July 1948. They spent 32 years in the military, traveling from New York, New Jersey, over to Germany thru Georgia to Okinawa and back with two daughters in tow, finally retiring to Orlando, FL. After her husband passed, Lillian lived in Peachtree City, GA, Key Biscayne, FL, and then moved to Fairfax,VA, to live with her daughter and spent her time traveling, cooking, reading, and laughing with her family and friends. She had a smile and a joke for everyone who came into her life and enjoyed trading jokes; she would tell you two for every one you told her. She will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery with her husband of 52 years, CSM (Ret) John J. Donnelly (1925-2002) at a date to be determined.
